The Client:

• The client operates as a standalone business unit in Australia, keeping the well-established name.

• StaddPro V8i, Microsoft Office, AutoCAD

Challenges:

• The project was not short of challenges.
• The client wanted an organisation to design and provide detailing for the conveyor belt system wherein the conveyor belt had its supports/Gantry and transfer towers. The biggest challenge for the client was to find an apt structural designer who could solve their concern.
• The client had the basic schematic diagram of the conveyor, transfer tower, Gantry and supporting frame for the conveyor. As far as design forces were concerned, the client had all axial forces and torsion forces for the equipment attached to the transfer tower and gantry. They needed someone who could conduct structural designing of conveyer belt system.

Solution:

• Staad Modelling as per the provided information as input.
• Applying different forces acting on different structures as per the standards codes and provided inputs.
• Analysis of structure in StaddProV8i.
• Working out forces from the Staad model and designing the steel members accordingly.
• Designing foundation from the StaddPro.
• Designing the steel structure connections from the joint force of StaddPro model.

After following above mentioned points we got all steel member sizes with connections details, foundation sizes ready for detailing.
